Deann is a native of the Blue Ridge Mountains, born and raised in Rockbridge County. After her undergraduate education at The American University, she worked in Washington DC for many years in international business.

She received her Masters of Science in Oriental Medicine from Southwest Acupuncture College in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and is a NCCAOM-certified, Virginia Board of Medicine licensed acupuncturist. Deann has been training in Hakomi Mindful Somatic Therapy from 2000—present and is a Certified Hakomi Practitioner. [Read about Hakomi HERE]

Her passion for Chinese Herbal Medicine underpins her service as Program Director, Faculty Lead Instructor, and Clinical Supervisor at Lotus Professional College in Richmond, Virginia.

Currently, Deann’s practice is at capacity; she is only seeing established patients or former patients of Roanoke or Rockbridge Community Acupuncture.
